Microsoft Leases 50,000 Sf of Office Space at Oko Group and Cain International’s 830 Brickell

Microsoft has announced that it is opening a new office by leasing approximately 50,000 square feet at 830 Brickell, the first stand-alone Class A+ office tower to be developed in the City’s Brickell Financial District in over a decade. The developers of 830 Brickell, OKO Group and Cain International, were represented by the Cushman & Wakefield team of Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman and Andrew Trench. Microsoft was represented by Alexander Brown, Executive Vice President with Colliers International.

“I am excited to share that our Microsoft Latin America regional team has a new future home at 830 Brickell in Miami. This space will become our new regional hub in addition to supporting other Microsoft businesses. This move will unite employees across multiple locations supporting collaboration, inspiration, and productivity. The new location will also serve as a bridge to deepen relationships with our customers while navigating the ever-changing hybrid work environment and maintaining Microsoft’s high standards around sustainability and accessibility,” said Mariana Castro, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Operations, Latin America at Microsoft in a LinkedIn statement.

“Bringing Microsoft to the Brickell Financial District is a huge step forward for Miami and our team’s ongoing campaign to populate 830 Brickell office tower with best-in-class users from the technology, finance, and corporate sectors. Microsoft’s 50,000 square foot lease represents new-to-market leasing activity for Miami’s Class A market at a time when a growing number of companies around the world are looking to establish or expand their footprint in South Florida. Once the decision-makers at these firms settle on Miami, 830 Brickell’s location, access, amenities, and technologies make it the logical choice,” said 830 Brickell developers Vlad Doronin, CEO of OKO Group and Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Cain International in a statement.

Microsoft is the latest example of a global tech firm expanding to Downtown Miami, further validating 830 Brickell as the address of choice for inbound companies. Microsoft becomes the second major corporation to lease space at 830 Brickell this year, joining tech-focused private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which is taking 36,500 square feet in the tower.

“The news that Microsoft is headed to Downtown Miami is rocket fuel for our City’s growth as a technology hub that’s capable of attracting the largest firms in the world,” said Manolo Reyes, City of Miami Commissioner and Chairman of the Miami Downtown Development Authority. “Microsoft’s office in the Brickell Financial District will be a magnet for other tech firms and the businesses that serve them, and that activity will have a direct impact on our Miami economy. The Miami DDA has been recruiting tech companies dating back nearly a decade, and the arrival of Microsoft will prove invaluable when it comes to showcasing the benefits of doing business in Downtown Miami,” said Manolo Reyes, Chairman of the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

830 Brickell is a Class A-plus office tower now under construction in Miami’s Brickell Financial District, representing a joint venture between OKO Group and Cain International. Slated for delivery in 2022, the 55-floor, 640,000 square foot tower was designed by renowned architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, with interiors by Italian architecture and design company Iosa Ghini Associati. Building amenities will include a world-class health and wellness center with panoramic views, a first-class restaurant and open-air rooftop lounge, a private conference facility for tenants, and 24-hour concierge service.
